National Centres

The current National Centres of ASSITEJ International are shown in blue on the map and also appear below in alphabetical order:

What is a National Centre?

ASSITEJ National Centres are national networks of performing arts companies, organisations, and people working in the field of theatre and performance for children and young people (TYA) in a particular country.

A National Centre focuses on creating a nationally representative network of all those who work in, are engaged with, support, or are interested in TYA.

ASSITEJ National Centres are intended to cultivate the field of TYA in their own country while simultaneously supporting international exchange, collaboration, and learning in partnership with other ASSITEJ National Centres.

ASSITEJ International has created a National Centre Toolkit to support National Centres’ establishment, maintenance and renewal. It is designed to guide new ASSITEJ National Centres on how to launch and as a means for established Centres to review their operations and refresh their ideas.
