Always for children, and it’s beautiful. Always for young people, and it is beautiful. Always for adults, and it is also beautiful. But… What if you join us on this new journey we are organising, thinking about performing arts for teenagers?
ASSITEJ Cuba invites stage artists, actors, actresses, theatre and dance performers from Cuba and the rest of the world to the 1st International Encounter of Theatre for Adolescents ESCENA REBELDE, Havana 2025.
This event, part of the legacy of the 21st ASSITEJ World Congress, will be an opportunity for artists and thinkers from all over the world to meet and work with adolescents. We believe that this stage of life is crucial in the formation of a strong, sensitive and profound personality in the understanding of the world and human environments. We also believe that it is somewhat neglected in the proposals of shows and festivals everywhere.
On this occasion, we will think about and create safe spaces for teenagers to talk about their fears, insecurities, dreams, loves and risks that make their lives complex. We are calling for groups that address proposals with these approaches and thus make up a very broad programme; full of nuances, languages and diverse colours. Havana and ASSITEJ Cuba invite you to participate in this “rebellious scene” (ESCENA REBELDE) around growth and self-understanding.
With the support of the National Performing Arts Council, the Ministry of Culture and the Havana Theatre Centre, we will be holding our meeting from 12 to 16 November 2025, in Havana, Cuba.
