The 2026 ASSITEJ Korea International Summer Festival will take place from 23 July to 2 August 2026.
Now in its 34th edition, the festival presents a rich and diverse programme featuring five international productions from the Czech Republic, Ireland, Italy, Poland, and Austria, a Japan–Korea collaborative creation, four outstanding Korean productions, as well as fringe performances, international workshops, and symposium. Together, these programmes create opportunities for artists, children, young people, and families from around the world to meet, exchange ideas, and experience the transformative power of performing arts.
During the summer holidays, the festival hopes to offer children and young people—especially those who have had limited opportunities to experience diverse cultural activities—a memorable journey around the world through the theatre, sharing meaningful artistic experiences with their families without leaving their own city.
The 2026 ASSITEJ Korea International Summer Festival also marks an important milestone on the road to the 22nd ASSITEJ World Congress & Performing Arts Festival 2027, which will be held in Suwon, South Korea, under the theme “Brave Futures”. As we look ahead to this global gathering of artists, children, young people, and audiences, we will continue to ask meaningful questions, expand our imagination, and discover new pathways through the performing arts. Together, we aspire to create a festival where children and young people, artists, and audiences can dream of a broader world and discover possibilities.
