Next Generation Network is inviting all previous Next Generation participants (alumni) to contribute to the interactive installation “When it Began (Where I started, Where I ended up)”, which will be presented at the Artistic Gathering in Marseille, France, in March 2025.
‘When it Began’ is an installation that captures some of the stories or key moments of previous Next Generation participants, spanning 18 years of the residency programme.
The installation considers the significant moments of artists at an early stage of their careers and invites reflection on the ‘then and now’, focusing hopes and dreams against the reality of personal circumstances, current environments, and socio-political contexts.
When you participated, many of you were starting in theatre for young audiences and entering an international arena for the first time.
We seek artists who have previously participated in Next Generation and plan to attend the AAG in Marseille.
If you are willing to contribute to the installation, please bring one significant moment that influenced you as a younger artist and describe how it changed your career trajectory and life.
You can bring that in various suggested forms that represent your ‘significant moment’:
- An image or an object with a description of it (no more than 75 words)
- Letter (no more than 200 words)
- A drawing with a description of it (no more than 75 words)
- Other
Mandatory:
– A self-portrait photo (headshot)
– A summary of your practice (no more than 25 words)
We are pleased to highlight the importance of the alumni community and its connections. We eagerly anticipate seeing you, hearing from you, and learning from your experiences during your Next Generation participation.
See you in Marseille!
