Are you working on a project that involves teenagers not only as an audience, but as active co-creators? We’re looking for you!
ForesTEEN is launching a call to map and connect creative processes where teenagers are actively involved in shaping, organizing, or co-curating cultural and artistic experiences. This could be a show, a festival, a workshop, or any initiative within the creative sector (e.g., exhibitions, events, communication campaigns, merchandise design, etc.).
We’re particularly interested in understanding how involving teens as co-curators – not just in creative roles, but also in organizational and decision-making functions – can foster deeper engagement and meaningful participation.
What We’re Doing
We aim to map and highlight projects and processes across the globe that embody this approach. This effort is part of a broader strategy to better understand the ecosystem that makes teen engagement meaningful and sustainable in the creative sector.
What We Mean by Co-Curated Process with Teenage Collaboration
A co-curated process is a creative or cultural initiative that actively includes teenagers in both the development and implementation phases.
Key elements include:
– Teenage participation: Teenagers are directly involved in decision-making.
– Collaborative approach: Adults and teenagers work side-by-side, combining skills and perspectives.
– Creative output: The collaboration results in artistic or cultural events or productions.
– Shared leadership: Teens have the space to make their own decisions, share their prespectives and give input. Adults are there to guide and support.
