ASSITEJ Spain announces the XXIV Luis Matilla Award for Theatre for Children and Young People, aimed at promoting the creation of high-quality theatre for children and young audiences.
Authors of any nationality may participate (except members of the ASSITEJ Spain Board and winners of the last two editions) with original, unpublished plays not previously awarded in other competitions, written in Spanish or any co-official language of Spain (with a Spanish translation). Co-authored works are accepted. Themes, structure, and number of characters are entirely free.
Each participant may submit up to two plays via email to premios@assitej.es, including:
PLAY: PDF text, minimum 30 pages, unsigned and without author-identifying metadata, with title and motto on the cover.
ENVELOPE (PLICA): author’s details (name, address, phone, email, and brief CV).
ID or Passport: scanned in JPG or PDF.
The winner will receive a single prize of €2,500 and a commemorative trophy. The awarded play may be published by ASSITEJ Spain in their Theatre Collection.
