To be launched on March 20
Te Veo ASSITEJ Chile will publish on March 20 a selection of texts dedicated to reflection, research, and the systematization of practices in the field of performing arts for children and young people. The initiative emerged from a call addressed to the performing arts community connected to this field, inviting them to share essays, research articles, process systematizations, and reflections related to artistic practice, pedagogy, and mediation.
This publication aims to open a space for dissemination, thought, and dialogue around performing arts for children and young people in the Chilean context. The organization considers it urgent and necessary to generate opportunities for critical reflection that can help make visible practices, discourses, and knowledge that have historically been marginalized or insufficiently documented within the performing arts field.
The project also seeks to recognize the artist as a producer of knowledge, fostering a reflective community that engages in dialogue from practice, experience, and situated research. Through this initiative, Te Veo ASSITEJ Chile hopes to contribute to strengthening critical thinking, memory, and the development of the sector at a national level.
The selected texts will become part of an open-access digital repository available on the Te Veo ASSITEJ Chile website. This space aims to serve as a documentation and archive platform, enabling artists, students, researchers, and mediators to study, deepen, and professionalize the field of performing arts for children and young people.
The repository will be launched on March 20, the date on which World Day of Theatre for Children and Young People is celebrated, established in 2001 by ASSITEJ (International Association of Theatre for Children and Young People). This day highlights the right of children and young people to access the performing arts, promoting creativity, personal development, and social transformation.
