On November 20th, Zimbabwe came alive with celebrations for World Children’s Day, blending creativity, culture, and education to offer young audiences unforgettable experiences.
At Jasen Mpepho Little Theatre, in collaboration with Precious Children’s Arts Organisation (PICA) and ASSITEJ Zimbabwe, an enchanting theatre performance titled Sandscape Zimbabwe was held for children aged 4 to 8 years. This unique production, specially curated for young minds, captivated 60 children from Larashen Infant School, Makumbe Primary School, and Old Windsor Theatre Academy. Through performance art, the children were introduced to a new world of storytelling, igniting their imaginations and nurturing a love for theatre.
Simultaneously, CHIPAWO celebrated its annual Founders’ Day at Alfred Beit Primary School. The event also marked an incredible 35 years of CHIPAWO’s contribution to arts education and empowering children through the performing arts. The day featured exciting activities, performances, and tributes to CHIPAWO’s lasting influence on Zimbabwe’s arts scene, offering meaningful experiences for children and families.

- Zvedu Tese Concert: On December 14th at 4pm, PICA will host the vibrant Zvedu Tese Concert at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Greencroft. The concert will feature performances by House of Talents, Simba Arts, Elysium Magna, and Team Mamero, celebrating Zimbabwe’s rich cultural heritage.
- CHIPAWO’s Annual Christmas Show: CHIPAWO will round off the year with its highly anticipated Annual Christmas Show, WHAT WE WANT, on December 13th and 14th at 6 pm (venue to be announced). The show promises an evening of festive magic and creative performances, making it a perfect end to the year.
