The MINIFEST is one of the oldest international theatre festivals for young audience in Russia. The 14th edition of this international theatre festival for children and young people is now calling for productions.

It was first held in 1989 at the initiative and thanks to the active involvement of Vladimir Chigishev, Chief Director of the Rostov-on-Don TYA from 1989 to 2005. In 1996 theatre and festival hosted the 12th ASSITEJ World Congress and General Assembly. For more than 20 years of MINIFEST’s history, it has been visited by theatre companies from Russia, Finland, Czech Republic, Austria, Denmark, Germany, France, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Great Britain, Japan, Netherlands, Sweden, Brazil, USA, China and many other countries.  

MINIFEST is not a competitive festival. Its main idea is to present to the audience and theatre community various genres and shapes of theatre for children and youth (with the exception of puppetry).
