MIRAI Festival: 2020 International Performing Arts Festival for Children and Young People in Japan / The 20th ASSITEJ World Congress “Towards the Unknown –Beginning the Journey”, is seeking proposals for workshops, practical demonstrations, presentations, seminars, and symposia to be conducted under our main mission theme of the event,All Our Futures: Children and Culture.

Our vision is that we shall actualise an inclusive society where “no one is left behind” (cited from the Sustainable Development Goals), filling the gaps in opportunities for children and young people to participate in cultural life and the arts, without cultural discrimination or exclusion.

Please submit proposals that link in a clear way to our mission.

Proposals are open to performing arts practitioners, administrators and researchers from all countries; performers of all genres and techniques, theatre directors, musicians, theatre designers, playwrights, performing arts academics, arts educators and teachers, theatre critics, arts journalists etc.

We would like to support you to come to the event, if this is possible; however, we are not able to guarantee any financial support at this point, as all the grants in Japan are officially determined only in March 2020. Therefore, we encourage you to apply for any grants that may be available on your side should your proposal be accepted.
