Dear friends and colleagues of Assitej,

from Assitej Spain we want to inform you that, on March 11, we held a General Assembly in which we renewed our Board of Directors.

After seventeen years, Lola Lara has left the office of the Presidency to continue, as she has done during this time, with the artistic direction of Teatralia, the International Festival of Performing Arts for children and young audience of Madrid.

Lola Lara has helped to build the foundation on which our Association is based. With the beginning of the century, Lola joins the board of the, until then, called AETIJ, which immediately became known as Assitej Spain, which made clear the intention of adding the Spanish association to the international project and the great Assitej´s family. Since then, Lola has taken Assitej Spain to the point where it is now: an editorial line of theater for children and young audience, unique in our country, presence in festivals such as Feten, a historical archive, the call for the Prize of Research Juan Cervera and the Assitej Spain Prize for Children and Youth, a position in the State Council for the Performing Arts and Music, … and the consolidation of an Association projected to the future.

In this order, the Board of Assitej Spain has unanimously elected our new President: Eulàlia Ribera, director of LaSala and artistic director of the Festival Petit de Tots. Eulàlia, together with Marta Torres (Malta Theater) as vicepresident, lead a new stage of Assitej Spain that in the coming days will work on the distribution of new members and will set the guidelines to follow in the next two years.

We hope to count on your support.
