ASSITEJ-Azerbaijan National Center-Azerbaijan State Theater of Young Spectators attaches great importance to the expansion and further development of new mutual artistic relationships with the theaters of foreign countries, same as in the last few months.
The Azerbaijan State Theater of Young Spectators, which has always made innovations and actively engaged in strengthening the theater and school relations, implemented events dedicated to the 145th anniversary of the National Theater of Azerbaijan and the 90th anniversary of the Azerbaijan State Theater of Young Spectators in the first days of March. The director of the theater, honored artist Mubariz Hamidov gave thorough information on the history of the Azerbaijan National Theater, founded by the theater amateurs troupe of the Baku Realny Schoolon March 10, 1873. The Azerbaijani theater went through a rough patchand gained success at the end. As a result of this, today the Azerbaijani theater is successfully represented at the leading international festivals of the world.
Our team successfully participated at the 8thInternational Monodrama Festival held in Al Fujairah, United Arab Emiratesfrom February 27 to March 2, 2018, and at the 8thInternational Theatre Olympics held in India on March3 to 8. The theater staff travelled to the 8thInternational Theatre Olympics with the invitation of the organizers and performed “Penalty” (mono-performance) spectacle based on Tamara Valiyeva’s samename playwright.
First night of "Snow Queen" spectacle based on the fairy tale by the same title, written by Hans Christian Andersen, was held on March 16 and the first night of “Cheburashka” spectacle based on the novel “Gena the Crocodile and His Friends” by Eduard Uspensky was held on March 18 on the stage of the Azerbaijan State Theater of Young Spectators. A number of schoolchildren attended the first night since the play was presented during summer holidays and on the eve of Novruz holiday.
Different interesting performances from the repertoire of the theater were presented for small children with the support of Azerbaijan State Theater of Young Spectators – ASSITEJ-Azerbaijan National Center on the occasion of Novruz holiday in March, 2018.
