Teatrul Ion Creanga is happy to announce the call for applications for the 11th edition of the International Theatre Festival for Children “100, 1.000, 1.000.000 stories”, that will take place in Bucharest, from 3rd to 10th October 2015. The deadline for applications is 19th April 2015.

The International Theatre Festival for Children “100, 1.000, 1.000.000 Stories”, organised on a yearly basis by Ion Creang? Theatre, is a complex educational and cultural programme, whose purpose is to develop children’s interest and involvement in arts. The Festival includes a large array of events that take place in several locations in Bucharest throughout 8 days: performances, creative workshops and related activities dedicated to children. Given that the Festival addresses professionals from the field of children’s theatre and education as well, the programme will also include a series of workshops dedicated to performing arts.

For the 11th edition, the organizers intend to bring together a wide selection of performances that includes various forms of theatrical expression, and thus encourage professional performing arts companies to apply not only with dramatic performances, but also with lyrical theatre, theatre-dance, puppetry etc.

The Festival includes the following sections:

1. Performances for children ages 1-6 / Competition
2. Performances for children ages 6-12 / Competition
3. Children’s performances / Out of Competition
4. Children’s workshops
5. Other events

Applications will be sent to the Theatre by post at 24 General Constantin Budi?teanu Street District 1, Bucharest, Romania or by e-mail at festival@teatrulioncreanga.ro, and will include the following:

  • the application form
  • a full length video recording of the performance (DVD/link)
  • 4 photographs of the performance (landscape, 300 dpi, JPEG)
  • the technical rider

The organizers will cover all costs regarding performance fees, accommodation, as well as local transportation from the airport to the hotel; they will not cover the costs for the transport.
