On June 27-29, 2025, the first “Chudasia” Theatre Festival took place in Lutsk, Ukraine. During three days, Volyn Puppet Theatre hosted more than 30 events: performances, workshops, creative games, and meetings. Theatres from Kyiv, Lviv, Vinnytsia, Chernivtsi, Zaporizhzhia, Rivne, Kharkiv, Odesa, and Volyn took part in the event.

The festival was created to support children, youth, students and amateur theatre groups from different regions of Ukraine. Its main goal is to promote the cultural development of young people, the formation of patriotic values and the expansion of opportunities for professional growth.

The festival was founded by Vadym Khainskyi, acting artistic director of the Volyn Puppet Theatre. In his closing remarks, he said:

“We have created a space where children and young people feel needed in their country. This is the beginning of a great friendship and new opportunities. The theatre should become a place of safety, development and inspiration for future generations. This is an investment in Ukrainian art and in those who will create it tomorrow.”
