32 Shows, 6 Workshops, 10 Performances, 4 Conferences, 2 Theatre Cafés and 50 Tributes. – Under the motto: With Persistence, Resilience and Resistance, let’s live Angola in the Theatre.
The 20th edition of FESTECA – Cazenga International Theatre Festival, the largest and most regular theatre event held in Angola, will take place at Anim’Art – Centro de Animação Artística do Cazenga, in the municipality of Cazenga, Luanda, Republic of Angola, from 10 to 20 July 2025.
This year’s edition, which is special because it marks 20 years of the festival without interruption, will mark the 50th anniversary of Angola’s independence from Portuguese colonialism and will pay tribute to 50 people who have worked to develop theatre in Angola over the years (Angolan personalities, entities, companies, performing arts companies and groups).
Participating in the event are 30 companies and groups from various parts of Angola, 2 from Brazil, 1 from Cape Verde, 1 from France, 1 from Italy, 1 from Portugal and the participation of 1 theatre director from Germany.
It brings together around 300 artists and an audience of around 300 people per show.
