From June 4 to 9, ASSITEJ Luxembourg hosted the 3rd annual meeting of the ASSITEJ Small Countries Network alongside the SparksLAB programme for emerging artists. This year’s focus was on object theatre for young audiences.

The event brought together artists, professionals, and ASSITEJ representatives from Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, Iceland, Montenegro, Cyprus and San Marino.

The programme featured the SparksLAB Workshop, a creative lab facilitated by renowned artist Ariel Doron, through which emerging artists explored object theatre. Participants also had the opportunity to become familiar with Luxembourg’s institutions and artists, with a focus on the performing arts for children and young people. During the programme’s last day, participants visited the Marionettefestival, where they had the opportunity to watch performances and make further connections.

In addition, the ASSITEJ Small Countries Network Meetings provided a space for discussions to support the network’s future. Among these meetings was a gathering at the Luxembourg Ministry of Culture.

The week encouraged exchanges, inspired new ideas, and strengthened connections within the ASSITEJ Small Countries community.

The Network’s members are ASSITEJ National Centres and affiliates from European countries with a population of less than 1,000,000 inhabitants. These are ASSITEJ Cyprus, ASSITEJ Iceland, ASSITEJ Liechtenstein, ASSITEJ Luxembourg, ASSITEJ Montenegro, Bradipotetatar (San Marino) and ZiguZajg Festival (Malta).
