Urembo: The Not-So-Beautiful Show is Kenya’s first-ever youth aerial arts competition focused on climate action. Children aged 7 to 17 will perform aerial silk, hoop, and trapeze pieces, all themed around carbon efficiency and climate awareness. The show asks the question: What is beauty if it doesn’t protect the planet?
This groundbreaking event will take place on 31st May 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, at the Kenya National Theatre. A guided meditation by the Brahma Kumaris will open the event at 10:00 AM, creating a peaceful and reflective start for the performances. The event is supported by the Kenya Wildlife Service, Kenya International Theatre Festival, the Brahma Kumaris, and Indomie-Kenya.
