Belgium’s LIBITUM residencies provide an environment for formal and informal work and exchange, where disciplines meet, and artistic perspectives intersect. They also provide a framework conducive to the creation of new or potential collaborations and synergies. Taking part in these residencies, therefore, requires a willingness and commitment to take part in the collective dynamic (collective exchange and feedback sessions, professional meetings, weekly round tables and open rehearsals) and active participation in “living together”.

The common theme for this 2024 edition of Belgium’s LIBITUM is (SELF) DECENTRING. This theme will run through the general organisation of the 2024 residency programme and will aim to bring together the artists hosted around a common point of dialogue, discussion and exchange. This theme can be interpreted on several levels, allowing it to permeate the entire residency project as follows: shifting the focus, decentring practices, shifting the focus from the city to the countryside, and decentring dominant discourses by starting with perspectives from the margins.

Two residency formats are offered for solo artists or teams of 2 artists max.:
