From Bibu Biennial & ASSITEJ Artistic Gathering 2022
An innovative new online platform was released on the third day of the festival. The platform is an initiative brought together by ASSITEJ National Centres from France, Italy, and Spain ,and focuses on promoting everything envisioned and produced by the global TYA community to address migrants and refugees.
The project is based around the webpage openstages.net, a space which will be used as a catalogue or resource where anyone can access a dynamic collection of shows, projects, articles and experiences dedicated to the theme of migration and immigration. The website will be regularly updated and is open to everyone who intents to present a show, play, research, social project or anything utilising the performing arts which may be aimed towards migrant children and their families or to raise public awareness on the issue. Anyone interested in sharing their work is free to upload material in the desired categories and can also share thoughts and experiences through the website’s forum.
Given the sensitive subject, the team was adamant to pinpoint that the portal also addresses themes such as comparison to the other, listening and reception.
The platform aims at collecting and sharing examples of what other groups are doing to address migration as well as good practices from and among people working in the field.
