ASSITEJ Lithuania continues to celebrate the 20th anniversary and dedicated one of the events to the World Day of Theatre for Children and Young People. On this occasion on 19th March national conference “Lithuanian Theater for Children and Youth: Between Past and Future” was held online in Zoom and live on our Facebook. Researchers, scholars and artists gave presentations and discussed urgent topics of nowadays: changes of performing arts for young audience context and content in Lithuania, challenges of analytical critique reviews on theater for children and youth, quality of performances for babies in relation with virtual environment, teenagers and awkward topics in theater, etc. The conference was open for all interested professionals and teachers working in performing arts for children and youth, parents and young audience. The conference was supported by the Vilnius city Municipality.
At the 20th ASSITEJ World Congress in the Professional Exchange Programme on 23rd March ASSITEJ Lithuania hosted one of the events intended for Russian speaking members from various national centers. Relevant value-based topic on challenges and possibilities of performing arts for early years were discussed, seeking to create new encounters and collaborations between countries with different situation in theater for very young audience.
