U.S. submissions are now being accepted online for participation in New Visions/New Voices 2018, a biennial developmental workshop for new plays and musicals for young audiences held at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
U.S. submissions must come from a theater that plans to produce the work in development, and must include both a playwright and a director who would be available to work on the new play from April 22–29, 2018 in Washington, D.C. For more details on submission criteria, please see our application guidelines.
In addition to considering text-based work, the New Visions/New Voices selection committee is accepting applications for devised work and pieces whose narrative is not solely text-based.
To better accommodate such productions, applicants will be given the opportunity to submit video and audio materials along with their script/treatment if desired.
Please note that the U.S. application for New Visions/New Voices is only available online. The application can be found at https://newvisionsnewvoices.submittable.com/submit/80650/new-visions-new-voices-2018-application-form.The application deadline is July 28, 2017.
Registration for the culminating showcase at the Kennedy Center April 27–29, 2018 will open around January 2018.
