On March 20th we are finalizing our one and a half year long project “Shadowland” with performances and discussions. The one-day event is organized in cooperation with Unga Klara in Stockholm.

The project has dealt with the issue of racism and racist structures. We have tried to investigate the effects, if any, on performing arts for children and youth. Has performing arts for young people embraced these issues? Are they mirrored in our repertoires? Do our performances raise questions or encourage resistance?

During the project we have co-operated with artists and individuals in many countries, Denmark, Norway, Germany, USA and United Kingdom, as well as, with many artists, theatres, dance companies and organizations in Sweden.

In March/April we will also finalize a report about the project.
