ASSITEJ Mexico deeply regrets the passing of the Mexican Minister of Culture, Rafael Tovar y de Teresa, diplomat, lawyer and Mexican historian.
He was President of Conaculta in three different periods, until this organization became the Ministry of Culture in 2016.
Tovar y de Teresa will always be remembered, among other things, for having projected Mexican art and culture at an international level and driven cultural relations and exchanges with other countries.
Both Conaculta and the Ministry of Culture have been fundamental supports in sustaining the ASSITEJ General Secretariat in Mexico.
