In order to arouse greater interest for quality theatre, ASSITEJ Spain announces the XIX ASSITEJ Spain Award of Theatre for Children and Youth.
Authors of any nationality may participate, with the requirement that the works are written in Castilian and adapted to the theatrical genre, as well as to a young audience.
The theme, structure and number of characters are totally free of choice. Moreover, the work must be unpublished and not have been awarded nor presented in other competitions.
Each participant can submit up to two works, which will be sent by email to premiosteatro@assitej.net in PDF format and with a minimum length of 30 foolscap sized sheets.
A single prize of € 2,500 along with a commemorative trophy for the best work presented to the jury, will be awarded.
In addition, the winning work will be published by the Association within their own Theatre Collection, while the author will retain all rights to the text.
The deadline for applicants to submit their writings is October 30, 2016, and the jury will make its decision public before February 10 next year.
