Part of VRUMSTIVAL 2026
Playtank is an intensive five-day professional working space situated between workshop, laboratory, and collective creation. It takes place in Vienna as part of VRUMSTIVAL 2026, celebrating 10 years of VRUM Performing Arts Collective. Inspired by the concept of a “think tank,” Playtank combines embodied research with artistic dialogue. The focus lies on process, encounter, and shared exploration rather than the creation of a final product.
Led by Zoë Demoustier (Ultima Vez), the laboratory departs from her production What Remains, in which performers of different generations share the stage. The practice explores the body as archive — a living repository of movement, memory, and experience.
Participants investigate how movement travels from one body to another, how it transforms across generations, and how individual physical signatures remain visible within collective practice. Through improvisation and relational practices of carrying and being carried, the laboratory opens space for trust, responsibility, and mutual support.
Who is it for?
Dancers, performers, choreographers, dance educators, and artists with solid movement experience and interest in intergenerational practice.
Children are explicitly welcome and participate free of charge.
