Dedicated to contemporary creation for children and youth, LA MÈCHE COURTE will bring together the artistic community and diverse audiences around a dazzling array of works from here and abroad.
“We’ve always believed that engaging with young people opens up a space of unparalleled freedom. That’s why we’re driven to shine a light on the courage and creativity of artists who seek to unsettle, liberate, and spark the imagination. Artists from all walks of life inspire us to create new spaces—full of experience, possibility, and new collaborations—for kids and teens alike.”
— Mélanie Dumont and Sylvain Cornuau, Co-Artistic and Executive Directors of LA MÈCHE COURTE
From November 7 to 16, 2025, the new festival will pulse with multi-faceted programming for ages 2 to 17. A wide array of performances and shows, artist encounters, hands-on experiences, and professional networking sessions will be offered. Our goal is clear: to spark a joyful, collective celebration that lets Montréal resonate with the energy, curiosity, and creative spirit of young people.

5 shows have already been unveiled on our website and the full festival lineup will be unveiled mid-August 2025. For now, we can tell you that we’ll be presenting a dozen shows from Québec, Belgium, France, Spain, Chile, and Switzerland.
