As part of the 19th edition of FAMFEST, taking place from 8–23 August 2026, Chile will welcome the international ASSITEJ community through a series of meetings and activities that will strengthen dialogue, collaboration, and the development of the performing arts for children and young people.
From 17–22 August, Santiago will host the meeting of the ASSITEJ International Executive Committee, bringing together Executive Committee members from around the world to discuss the organisation’s strategic priorities, ongoing programmes, and future initiatives.
From 19–21 August, Chile will also welcome members of the ASSITEJ Ibero-American Network, who will meet to strengthen regional collaboration, foster new partnerships, and develop joint initiatives supporting the performing arts for children and young people across Ibero-America.
As part of FAMFEST 19’s professional development programme, the Internationalisation Workshop: From Local Practice to International Networks and Collaborations will take place on Thursday, 20 August, from 15:30 to 17:30, at the Centro Cultural de España in Santiago. The workshop will be led by Stavros Stavrou, President of ASSITEJ Cyprus and member of the ASSITEJ International Executive Committee. Designed for a maximum of 30 participants, the session will provide practical strategies and tools for artists, companies, and cultural organisations seeking to build international partnerships and expand their work beyond national borders.
These events reinforce FAMFEST‘s role as an international platform for exchange and collaboration, while highlighting Chile’s commitment to strengthening global and regional networks dedicated to the performing arts for children and young people.
