 October 25 | Interpretative Center of the Heritage of Afurada | Vila Nova de Gaia

2:00 PM OPENING
 Welcome session and program overview, with a brief presentation of the project’s objectives.

2:30 PM LISTEN TO THE LANDSCAPE
 An immersive experience guided by narration, collecting and listening to representative sounds from the fishing community of Afurada. Each participant is given an MP3 player with pre-recorded tracks, providing a sensory and intimate journey through the territory.
Duration: 1 hour
 Note: Participants will receive a kit with headphones and an audio player.

3:30 PM THE FOAM OF THE SEA
 Activity: Interactive installation + conversation
 An interactive installation inspired by the “letter to the foam of the sea,” leading the audience through a journey between the dreamlike and the real. Through sounds and images projected on different supports, a sensory and poetic experience is proposed. Followed by a conversation dedicated to the importance of SPC language (Pictographic Symbols for Communication) in the school context.
In 2024, a version of the text “Foam of the Sea” will be published in SPC, promoting the inclusion of children with communication difficulties. The discussion will address the benefits and challenges of this alternative language.

4:30 PM SUSTAINABLE ALGAE
 A scientific and creative workshop dedicated to the production of bioplastics from marine algae. Participants will learn the entire process, from raw material preparation to obtaining the final product, promoting environmental awareness through experimentation.
Duration: 50 minutes
 Organization: two 25-minute shifts
 Capacity: maximum 20 participants per shift (registration required)

5:30 PM OPPOSITES TO SEE FROM THE OTHER SIDE
 Activity: International roundtable
 Conversation dedicated to the creation of a National Center of ASSITEJ in Portugal, promoting dialogue between national and international cultural agents, aiming to articulate networks and strategies for the development of performing arts for childhood and youth.
Several national and international guests and speakers to be announced.

8:30 PM MOVEMENTS TO STAY IN PLACE
 Location: Embarkation on the Douro River
 Activity: Dinner with live music (surprise artist).
