It is with great sorrow that we heard of the death of Søren Valente Ovesen, Director, Playwright and Actor and a fierce, funny and fearless fighter for theatre for children in the world. We remember him as a past member of the Executive Committee of ASSITEJ, as a board member of ASSITEJ Denmark and as someone who didn’t believe in walls created by politicians. He knew that by doing and acting, the world changes. And he did, and acted and spoke – loudly and often – trying to change situations in his own country as well as in others. We honour his memory and his legacy and know that the spirit of the man lives on in Batida, in his family, in his global community.
