CBTIJ/ASSITEJ Brazil board member Viviane Juguero and her group, Bando de Brincantes, is engaged in the creation of a new show for children, Bambu Bambá. Viviane’s invitation for this collaboration follows:

Dear collaborator,

The project to create the theatrical show BAMBU BAMBÁ is beginning its research phase about children’s games that will serve as raw material for the construction of the work’s dramaturgy. The period for this stage is from April 1st to May 31st, 2024.

At this stage, we seek information about the games of children who have experiences linked to diasporas, whether because they experienced these situations as immigrants or because of their ancestral relationships and with diasporic cultures.

You can contribute to our work in different ways. Such as:

  1. Report, in whatever way you prefer, your experiences with the topic, whether personal or those of children in your family or close groups.
  2. Organize meetings with children, seeing how they play, recording, if possible, in photos and videos, or even presenting a report on the experience in the best possible way. In this case, we can schedule a pedagogical orientation meeting, so that the activities are in line with our proposal.
  3. Respond to the following questionnaire:
  4. Share the questionnaire with interested people.
  5. Suggest research references.
  6. Share our materials on social media and other means of dissemination.

You can also create another way to contribute. As you know, joining this action is collaborative and voluntary.

The premiere of the show will be on the 13th and 14th of November, at the SESC Theater, in Porto Alegre. In the same week we will also hold a hybrid reflective meeting, with people participating virtually and others in person. We will confirm date and location as soon as possible.

I also remind you that any collaboration is welcome and that your participation can be as far as you can.

Warm greetings,

Viviane Juguero (Director of Bando de Brincantes)
