The small size networks members are mostly blocked in their homes trying to find ways to keep contact with their audiences. As the whole world works now virtually, it is not easy to reach the small children.  This was revealed also in the big Small size zoom, organized on 3 April. The meeting was long, we spoke for more than four hours and at one moment there were 40 members online! There is a big need for connecting now.

We talked about how life is right now in different parts of the world, when we have a really global situation with the virus. In some countries the government, the local authorities and the art foundations have created some support for theatres and individual artists. But in so many countries, the artists are suffering and the audiences, our little ones, have been denied their rights for arts, culture and even play. We plan to concretise this worry for the artists and children in a manifesto to come.

The network is also collecting the latest artistic news from our members and making a network publication, a digital catalogue of the Small size network.

Warm greetings to all ASSITEJ Members!

On behalf of the small size network, Katariina Metsälampi
