Launched in November 1996, the FATEJ aims to compare the experiences of theater shows for young audiences in Africa.
It is also a space for the meeting of Africa and the rest of the world by the guest of honor formula: It is to invite companies from non-African countries (who have a tradition of youth theatre).
The promotion of artistic exchanges between companies in the South-South, North-South, North-North direction, to encourage the creation of spaces reserved solely for the distribution of shows aimed at young audiences, to offer African creators to ensure the injection of their creations into the international network.
To date, several young African theater companies have traveled or traveled the world on tours and festivals. Others have been or are in co-production with companies from other continents from FATEJ.
