In Lithuania, there is a wonderful annual event open to artists to participate for free and to showcase their talents to the public. Gatvės Muzikos Diena (Street Music Day) 2018 took place in May in Vilnius. The brand new early years network group EYL (Early Years Lithuania) – a proposal from smallsize members Dalia Mikoliunaite and Cliodhna Noonan – chose this event as their first public collaboration. Five new members took part to the event: for one hour, in the gorgeous townhall square in Vilnius, early years artists, workshop leaders, musicians and puppeteers engaged passersby with games, lullabies, action songs and more.
It was a great success for the new network and a contemporary experience for active participants. We look forward to 2019 edition, when perhaps it would be interesting to involve some international colleagues.
