ASSITEJ Germany and the festival Spurensuche co-operated with ASSITEJ Sweden in their international project “shadowland” which reflects on how the (performing) arts for young audiences can and need to react to racism in Europe and elsewhere. Bianca Traum and Julia Kraus Dybeck enjoyed a three week residency at COMEDIA Theater Cologne and were able to do research on communication with children from various countries who also lived in refugee shelters in Cologne. They presented their work at the national festival of independent theatres who work for young audiences “Spurensuch” and will use their research as the basis for a production shown in December in Stockholm.
