Avignon : here come the kids!

Despite the diversity of the hundreds of productions it offers, the Festival d’Avignon has never been seen as a must for children, but its 2015 edition could help change the story thanks to Olivier Py, who since he took up the direction, decided to dedicate one of the official festival venues to TYA. Thanks also to the professionals of the association « Scènes d’enfance et d’ailleurs », ASSITEJ France’s sister for inside territories, who organised « 2015 enfants à l’honneur », in the frame of the Belle saison, the national TYA year, with the support of French Ministry of Culture.

AFFICHE Avignon 2015 BDSupervised by voluntaries, 4 hundred children and young people had the chance to experiment Theatre City from July 7 to 11, visiting the high places of the Festival, as the Cour d’honneur, attending quality productions, and meeting professionals for workshops.

ASSITEJ France, for its part, invited 14 European professionals, who were proposed an artistic journey through the most TYA-active venues of Avignon, and a public debate,« TYA in a foreign language » exploring original ways to perform abroad with or without translation.

You may now browse the website in English, Spanish, French, Chinese, Arabic, or Russian by using the button on the top-right of the page.
