TYA/USA is gearing up for the next edition of its biannual One Theatre World conference

One Theatre World 2015 will be held May 7-9 in Chicago, Illinois, and hosted by The Theatre School at DePaul University (also home of the TYA/USA office).

This year’s theme is “Dare. Dream. Do the Unexpected,” and the announced programming lineup (so far) includes a slew of daring dreamers who challenge us in unexpected ways :

  • Master classes by the UK’s Punchdrunk and The House Theatre of Chicago’s Nathan Allen;
  • Events featuring the composing team of Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (A Christmas Story, James and the Giant Peach), playwright Suzan Zeder (Mother Hicks, Wiley and the Hairy Man, Aviatrix), and a panel of Chicago and New York theatre critics discussing criticism in theatre for young audiences;
  • Performances by Chicago Playworks (The Theatre School at DePaul University), Adventure Stage, Chicago Children’s Theatre, Emerald City Theatre Company, and Theater Unspeakable at the Chicago Humanities Festival;
  • Breakout sessions and new play readings.

ASSITEJ Turkey celebrated World Theatre Day for Children and Young People with different types of activities. During March 2015, ASSITEJ Turkey has been organising public seminars and workshops for educators and theatre people about basic principles of gamification and drama in education techniques for children, physical theatre workshop, making puppetry and staging process.
