The Tchir Tchayaan International Ethnoecological Theatre Festival will take place in the city of Abakan, Republic of Khakassia (Siberia region), Russia from July 3 to July 10, 2019.

In 2003 Khakass National Puppet Theatre «Skazka» carried out the great project on ecological and cultural education International Ecological and Ethnic Puppet Theatre Festival «Tchir Tchayaan» (translated from Khakass as «Spirit of the Earth»). Since then nine festivals have already been held from 2003 to 2017. During the festival participants from around the world present their performances, take part in workshops and round tables, travel around unique places of the Khakass Republic.

The main idea of the festival is to present drama theatre, puppet theatre, street theatre, music or dance art in the context of cultural tradition, history and ecology of a certain region.

The festival covers expenses for travel, meals, accommodation and offers an exciting sightseeing tour in the region (for not more than 7 people). No fees are paid.
