The call to take part in the VI International Meeting of Performing Arts for the Early Years “Childhood, Territory of Peace” in Mexico is now open.
The VI Encuentro Internacional de Artes Escénicas para los Primeros Años: Infancia, Territorio de Paz is a space for exchange, creation, and training dedicated to the performing arts for children from 0 to 6 years old. Its purpose is to strengthen the presence of contemporary theatre, dance, and physical theatre proposals that recognise early childhood as a full, sensitive, and active cultural citizenry.
The Colectivo de Teatro en Espiral, in co-production with the Centro Cultural Tijuana (CECUT), an organisation of the Secretaría de Cultura del Gobierno de México, with the support of the Fondo de Ayuda para las Artes Escénicas Iberoamericanas, invites creators from countries that are members of the Iberescena Programme, excluding Mexico, the host country: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Spain, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal and Uruguay to participate in the VI International Meeting of Performing Arts for the Early Years “Childhood, Territory of Peace” to be held from 27 to 31 May 2026 in the city of Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico; as well as in the CIRCUIT in its allied venues in the northern central zone of the country from 01 to 10 June 2026 approximately.
Performing artists and professional groups from Latin American countries (except Mexico, the host country of the Encounter) may participate.
For this sixth edition, the curatorship will focus on proposals that explore movement through dance and body theatre aimed at early childhood, with a special interest in those that explore physical language as a poetic means of communication with children from the earliest years of life. The groups must send the required documentation in digital form to the e-mail address infanciaterritoriodepaz@gmail.com. It should be noted that the call is aimed at consolidated works and not at school works or works in progress.
The deadline for the reception of projects will be March 8, 2026 at 23:59 hours (Baja California, Mexico time). Two projects will be chosen for this call and the results will be announced no later than March 18, 2026 on the official website of Centro Cultural Tijuana and on the social networks of the Colectivo de Teatro en Espiral.
