FRATZ 2026 will take place in Berlin from October 9-15, 2026. We are planning to invite 4 productions for children aged 0-6, so-called pieces for all ages, provided they start with the youngest audience, are also welcome.
The production should have premiered between September 30, 2023 and October 15, 2025.
A video recording is required in order to participate.
We are interested in: bold, funny, serious, light, interdisciplinary, or genre-specific productions that experiment artistically in new directions in the performing arts for very young audiences. Productions that place particular emphasis on accessibility and the removal of barriers. In particular, we would like to offer a platform to artists who, due to marginalised perspectives, have been unable to find many or any opportunities to present their work.
We offer: Presentation at one or more Berlin venue(s). Promotion of the program to national and international organizers and curators. A supporting program with opportunities for exchange, professional discourse and workshops. Fees to be negotiated, based on current recommended pay rates in the Federal Republic of Germany. Accommodation and travel/transport costs, as well as per diems or meals.
The selection will be made jointly by a jury consisting of independent curators and the management of the festival and symposium.
Members of the jury are:
Tessa Hart – culture & change maker in the performing arts | Susanne Tod – theater educator with a focus on diversity and access consulting | Vera Strobel/Dagmar Domrös/Doreen Markert – artistic directors of Theater o.N. & FRATZ International | N.N.
