That next edition opens on Friday evening 8th of February with the Belgian premiere of O SNAP, a dance performance 12+ by Het Lab Utrecht / Erik Kaiel.
During 6 days, we present 4 premieres: Laika (Belgium), NIPT (On the edge) ; keski.e.space (Belgium, BIB-LIEB ( a dance performance in the library) ; Maandacht (Belgium): Red (SAVE – a concert with cartoons) and a new Krokusfestivalproduction by choreographer Joke Laureyns (you know from kabinet k.).
We also present the dance production by young choreographer Manon Avermate, Look back far enough…, a production by fABULEUS and Krokusfestival.
Next to this, there are interesting Belgian performances (theatre, music theatre, dance) by Zonzo Co., Kopergietery, inti, ZOO/Thomas Hauert, benjamin Vandewalle, Hans beckers, Palmers & Pierlet (you know of Studio Orka) and tmg LAP.
From The Netherlands we invite: Het Lab Utrecht, Toneelmakerij, Theater Gnaffel and NTJong ( the new name of Stella Den Haag, with a new text by Hans Van den Boom). Also Dutch is young theatre director Rosa Peters, who was coached by Stella Den Haag. Erik Kaiel also presents Murikamifikation, a site specific dance parcours in the city centre (even when it snows!).
But there are more international shows like Babayaga by Italian TPO, Igen by Danish Aben Dans, Mampf by German tanzfuchs, Au bord de l’autre by french Cie Ramodal and SWAP by Spanish Fet A Ma.
Besides Erik Kaiel, there is also site specific work by Belgian artist benjamin Vandewalle: 4×4 Birdwatching.
Krokusfestival also focuses on performances and installation for young audiences: Hans Beckers (Sonora Machina), Swiss trickster-P with .h.g. and another Swiss artist, Camille Scherrer. She presents the interactive installation In the woods.
Of course, we’ll also present discussions and meetings. Important is the presentation of the FRESH TRACKS EUROPE results, a European network dance for young audiences: a publication, a discussion, a residency, an intervention.
