International Puppet Theatre Festival Lutke is biennal event organised by Lutkovno gledališče Ljubljana since 1992.The festival brings to Slovenia the freshness of original, quality and versatile international puppetry productiones from all over the world. It is woven by the thin string of love and passion, unveiling the hidden worlds of diverse poetics, aesthetics, visions and quests. It is also ilustrating the crossroads of innovativeness, provocativeness and magic as well as adventures of curiosity, pleasures of research and short journeys into the tiny moments of eternity. The festival regulary recives over 130 applicationes while the programme usually presents around 20 performances. In 2012 the festival decided to cancel the practice of competativeness – they are convinced that art should not compete and that being selected to international festival is already an award and recognition.
