ASSITEJ Mongolia is proud to announce the open call for international applications to the Wanderlust in Asia Touring Theatre Festival 2026, scheduled for late March 2025 (exact dates to be confirmed).
This is not an ordinary theatre festival in the capital city of Ulaanbaatar—it is a nomadic, touring celebration of theatre across the breathtaking Zavkhan province of Mongolia. Each day, the festival will travel to a new sub-province, bringing performances to children and communities who may be experiencing live theatre for the very first time.
Over the course of more than 1,000 km through untouched natural landscapes, artists will have the unique opportunity to open their hearts, share their creativity, and connect with the spirit of Mongolia’s nomadic culture.
The Wanderlust Project, a collaborative initiative between the national centres of ASSITEJ Mongolia, ASSITEJ Nepal, and ASSITEJ Indonesia, was selected as a regional cooperation program effort. The very first edition of the festival will take place in western Zavkhan province.
