A joint project by ASSITEJ Cyprus and ASSITEJ Zambia

The ASSITEJ National Centres from Cyprus and Zambia have launched their collaboration through the project “ASSITEJ Theatre Friends”, which aims at bringing children and young people from the two countries, who have a passion for the performing art, closer.

During the first phase of the project, five children and young people from each country exchanged letters, in which they talked about themselves, their families, their country, as well as their passion for theatre and the performing arts. The next phases of the project will include more activities, which will encourage the participants to get to know each other better and learn more about the partner country.

The project was designed following a desire by both National Centres to examine ways of collaboration, in an attempt to build bridges between Europe and Africa through the arts. Both Centres regard the project as a good opportunity for the development of more similar projects between ASSITEJ National Centres all around the world.
