New project REAZIONE A CATENA – CHAIN REACTION

How do we wish to live together in today’s Europe? What challenges are European societies facing today? How can we approach them collaboratively and, in this way, imagine new ways of living together? These are some of the questions explored by On the Threshold of the Future, an international art project born in 2016 from the collaboration between the Stiftung Genshagen Foundation (Germany) and the Observatory of Cultural Policies of Grenoble (France) which intends to face the current challenges and the future new visions that derive from living together in Europe today, both artistically and theoretically, involving cultural operators, artists and the younger generations. The project, which immediately involved other international companies in the sector – the International Elias Canetti Society (Ruse), Narodowe Centrum Kultury (Warsaw), Piedmont Cultural Observatory (Turin), Racines (Casablanca), Comédie de Saint-Etienne (Saint Etienne) and Teatro dell’Argine – and institutional prestigious partners (the Chancellery of the German Federal Government for Culture and Media, the French Ministry of Culture, the Allianz Kulturstiftung for Europe, the Frankish-German Youth Office and the Hippocrène Foundation), therefore puts as center of its work keywords that are very dear to the work of Teatro dell’Argine: intercultural, intergenerational and interdisciplinary dialogue, active European citizenship and participatory democracy through the arts. The actions of the project are articulated in conferences, round tables and artistic workshops in the various countries on common themes established from year to year. For 2019, the project comes to life in two distinct stages that include a theater and dance workshop focused on the theme living together in Europe and a European conference on the same themes.
