After the successful 2019 Jacaranda Arts Festival, ASSITEJ Zambia is again inviting theatre groups and individuals to participate in the 2020 festival scheduled for March 18 – 21 in Lusaka, Zambia. The Jacaranda Theatre Arts Festival brings together theatre for young audiences’ groups and individuals to showcase and share their works and experiences, respectively.

The local and international groups that do theatre for young audiences can apply to participate in the festival whose theme is ‘Children and Youths Moving Towards  A More Positive Future’. Two groups from Malawi and Zimbabwe have already confirmed participation.

However, due to inadequate funding, the festival is unable to meet the participants’ travel, accommodation, food costs and pay out performance fees. So the participants are expected to meet all these related costs. They are willing to write specific invitation letters to those that want seek sponsorship to come and participate in the festival. Participation is free! The deadline for entries is Friday, January 15, 2020.
