This year the Mexican Theatre Center, as part of the World Day of Theatre Celebration gave a special recognition to Tita Lizalde, actress and puppet theatre promoter in Mexico, awarding her the medal “My Life in Theatre”. For 12 years she was director of the Children’s Theatre Center of the National Fine Arts Institute. Tita Lizalde was always very passionate about puppets, she brought Mexico into UNIMA and was the creator of TITIRIGLOBO, considered a space for puppets and children, that during the eighties rekindled puppet theatre in Mexico.
