La lunanelletto company/ Trail dire e il fare Cultural Association will host at the Ruvo di Puglia Town Theatre an ambitious project of international artistic residence, which will take place in two parts in 2016:

from 14 to 21 of February (digital animation) and from 10 to 17 of April (multidisciplinary workshop).

The Apulia Region, within the FSC 2007-2013 – APQ reinforced Cohesion and Development Found named “Cultural goods and activities” entrusted to the TeatroPubblico Pugliese (Apulian Public Theatre) the management of the action “Internationalization of the theatre and choral dance research 2016” for the development and modernization of the production chain of live theatre and dance regional performance, as well as for the improvement of the touristic attractiveness.

Specifically the action fulfills a series of activities in order to: support “contamination” experiences between Apulian and international artists; increase international performances scheduling inside Apulian theatres with the aim to enlarge the cultural offer of the territory and to affect the overall attractiveness of the “Apulia system”; favour the meeting between Apulian productive entities and international direction, choreography, drama and playing excellences, by encouraging the professional and productive growing of the former and their broader competitiveness in the national and international market.

The Kirana project is conceived and achieved by a group of artists coming from Malta:

Martin Bonnici / digital animator

?RUBEN ZAHRA concept, composer and director

TRICIA DAWN WILLIAMS composer

PAMELA KERR choreographer

KIRANA is an interdisciplinary performance conceived and planned in order to put kids and artists in contact in a creative cooperation process. Four professional artists from Malta move everywhere in the world and lead a five days workshop with the kids from the host city. The creative workshop output is then integrated in the performance so that the kids can directly contribute to the performance with their rhythm, movements and language.

The first working step, which will take place from the 14 to the 21 of February, will be a digital animation workshop, addressed to maximum twenty students between 10 and 14 years old. The aim is to introduce the students to the computer graphic digital world by the use of one of the most known software in the broadcast. The students, in fact, are followed through a shared work process: they will personally design the images that Martin Boccini will digitalize and these images will be included in the “Kirana” multidisciplinary performance, which will be fulfilled later on, to make experience in the management of the digital animation so that the kids can actively contribute to the performance by their own personal artistic features.
