Most of us – as artists and individuals – are in a difficult situation. We have to face fear and uncertainty, stress, disappointment and anger. In this Coffee Session we talk about ourselves with focus on strategies to cope with the crisis. Feel free to join!

We invite 3 experts to give impulses:

  1. Pamela Udoka, psychologist from Lagos / Nigeria talks about the strategies in Western Africa to manage the (permanent) crisis as individual.

  2. Dr. Birte Werner, head of department for performing arts at Bundesakademie WolffenbĂĽttel / Germany. She will introduce a creative and inspiring method to experience together in the Session: the “Circle of Influence”.

  3. Yukiko Kurokawa, Ph.D.Clinical Psychologist. Director of YUKIKO KUROKAWA Institute of Gerontology. Sophia University Professor Emeritus / Japan. Namita, Yoga expert / Japan. Asian perspectives on “dealing with a crisis”.
    Dr Kurokawahas been working with people with cognitive challenges and their families using life review, reminiscence, art and other methods. Currently, she is the vice-president of Japanese Society of
    Clinical Geropsychology.
    Born and raised to Indian and Japanese parents in Kobe, Japan, Namita’s curiosity towards India grew and began practicing yoga at age seventeen. In 2009, Namita started working at a elite securities firm. Although high-intensity, every social, educational, technical, practical experience was a learning opportunity. Time came when Namita decided to take the next big step. Originally, she started yoga with the curiosity to get closer to India. What better way than to actually go? In 2012, she travelled to Rishikesh, India, for a Yoga Alliance 200-hour teacher training program, and received her 300-hour in 2015. In between, she taught yoga while continuing her studies at Oxford University and various parts of Tokyo on mindfulness, maternity and postnatal yoga, and kids yoga. She currently teaches private and group lessons to a wide range of ages, backgrounds, and fitness levels in downtown Tokyo. With individualized Hatha yoga lessons in English or Japanese, Namita understands the stress of living in Tokyo and is guaranteed to help you maximize the gift you give to your body.
